Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the African Coaches League (“ACL”) website and member platform. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. Paid membership is also covered by the Membership Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

• Give accurate, current information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account, so tell us at once if you think it has been misused.
• One person, one account. Do not share your account or pretend to be someone else.
• You can review and sign out your devices from Settings → Security.

Use ACL to learn, connect and grow as a coach. You agree not to:

• post anything false, misleading, unlawful, hateful, harassing or that infringes someone else's rights;
• claim qualifications, licences or experience you do not have, or upload documents that are not genuine;
• send spam or unsolicited promotion, or message members to sell to them;
• collect other members' information for any purpose outside ACL, or scrape the platform;
• try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the platform or other people's accounts;
• use the platform for anything illegal.

You keep ownership of what you post: your profile, messages, opportunity listings and documents. You give ACL permission to store, display and share it as needed to run the platform, for example showing your profile according to your visibility setting and publishing an opportunity you submitted once it is approved.

You are responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to share it. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

ACL reviews credentials you submit and shows the result as a verification status. Verification is an administrative check of the documents provided at the time. It is not a guarantee of a coach's ability, conduct or suitability for any role, and you should do your own checks before relying on anyone.

Opportunities are submitted by ACL and by members, and ACL reviews them before they are published. Reviewing a listing is not an endorsement, and ACL is not the employer, organiser or party to any arrangement you make with a listing's author. Programmes and events may change, fill up or be cancelled, and details shown are those given to us when they were published.

Messaging and mentorship are for professional use between active members. Be respectful. Mentors give guidance in a personal capacity; ACL does not supervise those conversations and is not responsible for advice given. Report anything abusive using the contact form and we will look into it.

The ACL name, logo, design and the content we create belong to ACL or its licensors. You may view and use them for your own personal, professional use of the platform, but not copy, resell or build on them without our written permission.

We may limit, suspend or close an account, or remove content, if these terms are broken, if we believe an account is being misused, or where required by law. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why. You may stop using ACL at any time and can ask us to close your account using the contact details below.

We work to keep ACL running and accurate but cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or free of interruptions. We may change or withdraw features, and will try to give notice of significant changes.

The platform is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, ACL is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for the actions of other members or listing authors, or for decisions you make based on information on the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We may update these terms and will show the date at the top. If you keep using ACL after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. For significant changes we will give notice on the platform.
